Sitting For Too Long

As a physical education teacher I am very blessed that I do not have to sit behind a desk all day. But there are times in my life where I do sit for long periods of time and since I have low back issues it is very important for me to sit with the right posture and make sure I am not developing forward head posture. ELDOA and Myofascial Stretching have really helped me with my back issues. Check out the two articles below. One way to get out of your chair is to go for a nice slow walk during lunch. I see plenty of people with their walking shoes on at lunch walking outside getting some sun and “working-in” which I will cover later. At my school in the past we had a couple of teachers walking the track at lunch or during their prep period. If something is important to you then you will find a way to make it happen during the day.
